2025 MASTERS WINTER MEET

This master meet provides the first racing opportunity in the Irish swimming calendar of 2025 & is a perfect opportunity to prepare for the proposed Irish Masters (March) & Ulster Masters (May).

For this meet there will be medal podiums based on top three in the respective events & age-groups based on the masters age-groups breakdown below.

Age Groups: 19 – 24yrs (X) 25 – 29yrs, 30 – 34yrs etc & upwards in 5 year intervals.  All age-groups are based on age as of 31st December 2025.
Relay Groups: 100-119YRS(A), 120-159YRS(B), 160-199YRS(C) & 200+YRS(D)* Winners only will receive medals.

MSW 1.2 Relays: To be conducted on the total age of team members in whole years. Age groups of relay events are as follows: 100 – 119, 120 – 159, 160 – 199, 200 – 239, 240 – 279, 280 – 319, 320 – 359, and … (forty year increments as high as is necessary).

Entries may be submitted via Hy-Tek (send on request) or via the hard copy entry form.

Meet Information

Session Time: Warm up 4.30-5.10pm (Mixed)

Start: 5.15pm Finish: 8.30pm (approx.)
Pool: 6 lane Deck level, 25mts pool with a small viewing area that can host a maximum of 150 people.
Events: All events are heat declared winners (HDW)
Records: If swimmers are attempting to break a regional or national record, they must notify the Race Referee & all claimed records have to be signed off by the Race Referee on the day.
Mixed events: As all events are mixed gender, the swimmers’ entry time will determine what heat a swimmer will be swimming in. Swimmers who enter with no times will be entered in the earlier heats & ALL competing swimmers must be registered members of Swim Ireland in order to compete.
Administration Point: This will be set up in the Reception area available in the pool foyer from 4pm which all
swimmers & teams must register & pay for entries (if not paid in advance) before entering to compete.
Entry Age: As this is an Open Masters meet, the youngest age to enter must be in their 19th year (born in 2006 & older).

Parking is available at the pool and at the St. Louis GNS, Park Road, Monaghan H18 HK31 to the rear of the pool site.  If swimmers wish to stay overnight in Monaghan there are 3 hotels in the town (Westenra Arms, Four Seasons & Hillgrove), Castle Leslie in Glaslough, the Sliabh Beagh Hotel in Knockatallon and numerous B&B’s in the area. We can facilitate your accommodation search if you contact us for assistance.

# IN THE 50/100 EVENTS ONLY 1ST PLACE AGE-GROUP FINISHES WILL RECEIVE MEDALS IF THERE IS 7 OR LESS COMPETITORS.

The gala will have full electronic timing in operation, which means all times are fully authentic for entry into the Ulster & Irish masters meets.

Hytek files are available from the 11TH January if swimmers/teams wish to process entries this way & will be emailed to teams on request.

Meet Conditions

  1. The Meet will be held under Swim Ireland rules. Times achieved at the meet can be used to enter Regional &
    National masters competitions in 2025.
  2. Entries will be seeded into heats based on entry times with the slowest heat being swum first. No Time (NT)
    entries will be swum in the earlier heats.
  3. Only swimmers, coaches and officials are allowed on poolside. Wet swimmers are not allowed in the spectator area. Shoes must be worn by swimmers accessing the pool area.
  4. Swimmers should report to the competitor’s steward one event prior to their swim.
  5. No deck entries will be taken on the day.
  6. Sliabh Beagh ASC nor Monaghan Coral Leisure Complex accept any liability for loss or damage to personal belongings.
  7. The session time may be adjusted when all entries have been processed. Any Change in session times will be notified with confirmation of entry acceptances.
  8. Sliabh Beagh ASC reserves the right to alter any of the above conditions if necessary. Any matter not covered by the conditions shall be at the promoter’s discretion if not covered by Swim Ireland competition rules& regulations.
