On Friday last excitement levels in Omagh were high. It was the Aquasprint A finals between us, Enniskillen
Lakelanders and Newry & Mourne ASC. Sliabh Beagh were looking to progress to division 3 by winning the
final, it was a tough ask and we almost did it, but not quite.
There was a great buzz in the pool, our team had their teddy, Pearse 2.0 with them and they were all dressed in their red aquasprint t shirts ready for the parade around the pool to the sound of Katy Perry. The three teams joined in the parade, settling the nerves before the races began.
Our Team swam well, showing great strength particularly in the backstroke and butterfly strokes, showing our dominance in a lot of races. Well done to each and every swimmer for their efforts and we came very close to winning the final, but sadly the final score was Enniskillen 303, SliabhBeagh 289 and Newry and Mourne 248.
Nevertheless, it is great to come in second place and our team deserved their silverware!
Well done to captains Faye and Justas on leading the team this year and congratulations again to all the swimmers throughout the series.
