Antrim Championships
Sliabh Beagh had a large turnout for this gala with 22 swimmers taking part. The gala took place in the 25M pool in Larne on the 23rd and 24th April and had a huge representation from swimmers all across Ulster. The coaches were very happy with all swimmers. There were lots of personal best times with some taking huge chunks of their times and some swimmers reaching the podium.
The following swimmers finished in medal positions:
Kyle Crean Mc Kenna 2nd 100 Breast, John Donnelly 1st in 200IM, 2nd 100 Free, 200 free and 200 Breast. Eimear Mc Kenna had a great weekend coming 1st in the 200 free and 100 Back 2nd in the 200IM, 200 Breast. Megan Mc Shane 1st 200 Backstroke and 200 Breaststroke and 2nd 400 Freestyle. Emer Sheridan 2nd 200 Breast and 3rd in 200 Free. Jamie Sheridan 2nd 200 Fly and 200 free, 3rd in 100 Freestyle.
There were also excellent swims by the following, Cliona Barry, Katie Bowden, Faolan Campbell, James Campbell, Ruadhan Curren, Tara Gillespie, Niamh Lavelle, Daniel Madden, Emily Madden, Emma Mc Elvanney, Alannah Mc Gahon, Ellen mc Geough, Sheenagh mc Kenna, Hannah Sheridan, Hannah Skeath and Matthew Skeath, All finished well up in their age groups and posted PB’s in most of their races. Well done everyone!
