SWIMMING CLASSES IN MONAGHAN LEISURE CENTRE

Sliabh Beagh swimming club held a number of free swimming lessons in Monaghan Leisure Centre with swimming skills as the main focus.

In total 55 young people attended these lessons. The young people who attended were from all across Co. Monaghan. Areas included Castleblayney, Latton, Doohamlet, Ballybay, Monaghan, Scotstown, Donaghmoyne, Truagh, Emyvale and Clones.

Most attended on all sessions. Some were unable to make all sessions, due to other activities or holidays. A few found it too challenging or were too young.

The outcome of the classes is that 37 have expressed an interest in attending the Sliabh Beagh Club Development Class or the Club Aqua Squad.

Eight (8) had already signed up for pool classes and will attend these and then they will contact the club in January 2017.

The remainder were not interested or were not in a position to give the club programme a chance at this time.

The Club are very happy with the outcome of the programme and hope to be a position to repeat the programme next year.
