Colin Swims on Ulster Team to Win Inter-provincial Schools Cup

Congratulations to Colin Gorman who swam on the victorious Ulster team that competed in the Inter-Provincial Schools Cup last Saturday in the National Aquatic Centre. All four provinces put in a strong performance but Ulster won with a comfortable margin in the end. Colin swam in the 100 Fly and freestyle and in the 200 Freestyle and Individual Medley relay. Well done everyone!

Irish Open Swimming Championships

Well done to our three swimmers from Sliabh Beagh who qualified and competed in the Irish Open from 28th April to the 1st May in the NAC. This open competition attracted swimmers from across Europe, the UK, Canada and Asia. With fast times expected across the weekend a number of swimmers were hoping to make European and Olympic qualifying times! This was certainly a good experience to swim at this level and one our club were proud to be part of! Well done to Alannah Leonard, Megan Mc Shane and Colin Gorman who competed over the four days. Peter O Hara had also qualified for this event but unfortunately due to injury was unable to compete.
