IAG Division 2 Championships
This gala will be held from Friday 28 June to Sunday 30 June inclusive in The University Arena Limerick. Seven Sliabh Beagh swimmers are attending and hoping to be successful both in achieving personal best times and also in collecting some silverware. This will be a tough ask as the biggest entry ever for this gala is being reported by Swim Ireland.
So we wish Ciaran H, Ciaran O’M, Jamie, Conor, Eimear, Orla & Megan every good wish and success over the weekend.
Bangor Division 1 training Camp
This camp is a shared camp with several Ulster clubs utilising the new Bangor 50m pool to prepare for the forthcoming Division 1 and Open Championships from the 19 to 21 July inclusive. At this camp the swimmers will twice a day. Long course 50m pool in the morning and short course 25m pool in the afternoon. All have been lactate tested in the last 10 days so nobody will be leaving their training to chance. All intensities are predetermined by the testing. Good luck and nurse those niggles along and be ready for mid July. We all hope Nathan will enjoy his tough schedule in Spain and will return repaired.
Short points
The club had its first Yoga class last Sunday morning. Getting the moves and breathing was confusing but all enjoyed the session. More are likely. However some Moms found it in their arms the next day. Well ladies that is called DOMS and you need to start working those triceps, Biceps, Pecs and Lats a little more!!
Claragh and her merry warriors from Killanny were narrowly pipped by a Cavan team last Saturday in the Ulster GAA final. Hopefully Monaghan men will not suffer the same fate.
END OF YEAR
As this is the end if our training sessions this weekend. We wish all our members and their families a happy and SUNNY summer. See you in September.
