Club Notes: 23 January 2014

Swim Ulster Development Gala in Lisburn.

Seven swimmers from the club travelled to lisburn to take part in the third Development gala.  The swimmers and their strokes were as follows.

Allison Gorman,  200 IM, Swim Ulster Qualifying time, 2nd place in age group.  100 freestyle, 2nd place in age group.

James Campbell,  200 backstroke PB,   100 breaststroke, PB.

Leon Campbell , 200 Backstroke, 3rd place in age group,  100 Breaststroke, 4th place in age group.   400 Freestyle, 2nd place in age group.

Niamh Collins, 200 breaststroke, 2nd place in age group, 100 backstroke, PB.

Geroid Coyle, 200 Backstroke, PB, 100 Breaststroke, PB.

Caolan Roberts 200 Freestyle, PB.

Lorcan Roberts,  200 Freestyle, Swim Ulster Qualifying Time, 1st place in age group . 100 Fly, PB.

Ulster Secondary School

Last weekend nine Sliabh Beagh swimmers travelled to Ballymena to represent their school and the club. The standard of this competition is very high with the fastest swimmers across Ulster attending.  All swimmers put in a solid performance with personal bests achieved.  Despite the high standard  two swimmers brought home medals and one was placed in a final.  Congratulations and well done to Alannah Leonard who won gold in all of her three races, 100 backstroke, 200IM, 400 Freestyle.  Ciaran Deasy, who won gold in the 200IM and placed fourth in 100 Breaststroke. Colin Gorman, who was placed 5th in the 100 Breaststroke final.  Also well done to Leon Campbell, Ciaran Hennessy, Jordan Mc Shane, Megan Mc Shane, Niamh Collins, and  Orla Young.Ulster Secondary Schools competition
