Club Notes: 27 February 2014

NAC Charity Gala.

Four swimmers competed in this gala on 16th February. As always the meet attracted a large entry from across Leinster and beyond. All Sliabh Beagh swimmers achieved personal bests and some brought home silver wear. Well done to Sheenagh Mc Kenna who achieved PB’s in the 50 freestyle and the 50 backstroke. Caolan Roberts who got a PB in the 50 freestyle and Lorcan Roberts who swam the 200IM for the first time also achieving a great time.   Ross Delaney had a great meet bringing home medals in all his strokes. 100 butterfly first position, 100 breaststroke and 100 back, second position and 100 Freestyle third position.  Well done everyone.

50M training in Magherafelt

18 swimmers from the club travelled to Magherafelt to complete a training camp in preparation for the Ulster Age Group championship at the end of March. Coach Eamon spoke to the swimmers between sessions asking them to identify what they needed to work on over the next few weeks.  The importance of focus and putting maximum effort into all sessions was stressed. Despite the hard work that was put in by all swimmers over the weekend there was still time to relax and have some fun between sessions (as seen below).  It is hoped that another session in the 50m pool will be organised in the next few weeks.
