Swim Ulster Development Gala in Omagh
11 young athletes from Sliabh Beagh swimming club travelled to Omagh Leisure centre on Saturday 27th February 2016 to compete in Swim Ulster Development Gala 3. This was a great gala for the club with 20 personal best times, 11 medals, two Swim Ulster Qualifying times, one Ulster Age Group time and two Division Two Qualifying times!
This gala is designed to introduce novice swimmers to swimming distances between 100 and 200 IM in all strokes.
A large number of entries ensured it was a busy competition. All the young swimmers,(some competing for the first time) were hoping for improvement in their performances and their times. This newly opened centre provided great facilities and space for athletes of all age groups and abilities. The space at poolside provided for the swimmers to line up for their event without delay, resulting in little or no delays. Coach Linda was very satisfied that each swimmer performed well all achieved PB’s with one or two achieving Division 2 qualifying times.
