Dave Mc Cullagh International Meet:
Well done to our three swimmers who qualified for this high standard gala. Sisters Alannah and Caragh Leonard and Colin Gorman. Our swimmers competed against the best in Ireland the Uk and further afield and did not come up wanting. Alannah is a seasoned competitor having swam in this event on a number of occasions. Alannah made the finals of the 50, 100 and 200M backstroke the 50 and 100 Freestyle and the 200IM which was a great weekend’s work. This was Colin’s first time to qualify for the Dave Mc Cullagh so he was delighted to be there soaking up the atmosphere! Colin Narrowly missed out on a final in the 200 Fly but came good in the 100 Fly putting in a great swim and finishing 13th overall. Caragh at 12yrs was one of the youngest competitors at the gala. Caragh qualified to swim in the 50, 100 and 200M breaststroke and the 50M Freestyle. Caragh put in a good performance and was certainly not over awed by the prestigious field! Well done everyone and for representing Sliabh Beagh at this gala.
St Particks Day Parade: Well done to all our swimmers who took part in the St Patricks Day parade. As usual your colourful Fishes added interest to the parade!
