Irish Open Championship 2022

Irish Open Championships 2022:

This meet took place on the 19th to the 23rd April in the National Aquatic Centre. Our Club had two swimmers attend this prestigious event; Adam Lynch and Darragh Hughes. This meet is difficult to qualify for, so to even get to swim at this meet is a big deal for swimmers. Irelands top swimmers were in attendance, the like of Danielle Hill, Niamh Coyne, Eoin Corby and Jack McMillan to name a few.

Adam swam in the 50fly. He swam a strong race, to his pb time and qualified for the Junior final, where he again swam close to his personal best time.

Darragh swam in the 50breaststroke where he gained a personal best time in a good performance and he also qualified for the junior final. Head coach Pearse McGuigan accompanied the boys to Dublin for this meet along with the proud parents.

This was a great experience for the two lads who have worked extremely hard in the pool in preparation for this level of competition.

Well done to both Adam and Darragh who will have gained great experience swimming alongside the best swimmers on this island.
