Sliabh Beagh Come out Tops at Irish Age Group Division 2 Championships

IAGDIV2
This championship is a culmination of nine months of work by swimmers to gain qualifying times to compete in this age group event. The competition ran from 25th to 28th of June and took place in The University of Limerick 25M pool. 520 swimmers from all across Ireland took part, all hoping for personal best times, some to make finals, a few to take home medals.  Sliabh Beagh had eight swimmers attend with remarkable results!  The coaches and parents agreed that although everyone attended the event with optimism, the swimmers achievements far outreached everyone’s expectations. Out of the eight swimmers who competed 15 medals were brought home, 29 finals were reached and 42 personal best times were achieved, along with an impressive number of Division One times.  This high achievement was a result of hard work and dedication by the swimmers and an excellent coaching team.

Congratulations and well done to all our swimmers. Matthew Comiskey, Allison Gorman, Jamie Sheridan, Cillian Mc Gahon, Emer Sheridan, Sean Mc kenna, Caoimhe Leonard, Caolan Roberts.

Thank you to the Division two Coach Noel Mc Gahon and Head coach Eamon O Hara. Also Thanks to the Gala Secretary Deirdre Comiskey and Club secretary Clare Sheridan for all their hard work leading up to and during the gala. A special word of thanks to the parents and supporters who attended at the weekend.  If there had have been a prize for the best supporters Sliabh Beagh would have won!  Well done everyone. Have a great summer, see you all September. Full report on swimmers next week.
