Sliabh Beagh welcomed East Cavan Swimming Club to Monaghan Swimming Pool on Saturday 26th January 2019 in the fourth fixture in the PTL competition. Confidence was high following on from the squads previous three victories, could they make it four? With warm ups completed it was down to business with both squads laying down markers early on. Some of the races were so close there was only a fingertip separating first and second. There was a great competitive spirit in the pool as well as great sportsmanship between the two teams. It was great to see all the Slaibh Beagh squad supporting and encouraging each other throughout the gala from the newest members to the seasoned pros. It was yet again a very close competition with Sliabh Beagh winning with a score of 595 to East Cavan’s 522 Well done everybody a great result. The Six Nations hasn’t even started and Slaibh Beagh have already completed the Grand Slam. Thanks to all the supporters who cheered on the team from the gallery. Thanks to all the organisers and volunteers who helped out and made the gala run so smoothly. A mention has to go out to the bakers and sandwich makers who as ever outdid themselves. A special word of thanks to Emer and Maura for getting the PTL off the ground this year, I’m sure all involved would agree that it was a very enjoyable experience. Go Sliabh Beagh!
