Last Saturday the 27th August seven of our Sliabh Beagh swimmers took part in the Ballybay Sprint Triathlon. Some completed in the full sprint distance and others did the swim, cycle or run as part of a Relay team.  As expected the Sliabh Beagh had a strong swim leg with Colin Gorman out of the water first followed closely by Shauna Mc Gahon, Leon Campbell, Jamie Sheridan, Oran Mc Gee and Emily Madden.  Colin, Oran and Emily took part in the full sprint distance while Shauna and Jamie did the swim leg for a relay team. Peter took on the challenge of a 20k cycle which he completed in a very respectable time!  Leon completed both the swim and run section for his relay team.

Congratulations to Oran Mc Gee who came first in the Junior male section and placed fourth overall. Colin Gorman placed second in the Junior male section. Emily Madden had a fantastic race finishing first lady home. Leon Campbell ‘s relay team beat off some stiff opposition to come home in first position. Shauna’s Mc Gahon’s relay finished second and Jamie Sheridan and Peter O Hara’s relay team finished in third position. The swimmers really enjoyed the experience and as always a big thanks to the Muckno Triathlon club for their support and encouragement. Well done everyone.
