Twenty Medal sweep for Sliabh Beagh at Swim Ulster Spring Gala.

10 Sliabh Beagh swimmers attended the Swim Ulster Spring Gala in the 50m Aurora pool in Bangor. It was a great swimming weekend for the club with swimmers taking home 20 medals and a host of personal best times. The coaches were very happy with the teams performance and this has laid a good foundation for upcoming championships later in the season.

Ciaran Deasy: had a busy weekend swimming in six strokes over the weekend. He achieved two first place positions in the 200 Backstroke and 50 Backstroke. He also achieved Personal best times in the 400 freestyle.

Cillian Mc Gahon: Swam in seven strokes over the weekend beginning with the 1500 freestyle on Friday evening gaining a massive PB of almost two minutes and a gold medal. Cillian rose to the top in his age group in most of his strokes gaining first place in the 200IM, 100 Free, 400IM, 100 Fly and 100 breast and silver in the 200 Backstroke.

Shauna Mc Gahon:  Swam in six strokes. She gained a Personal best time in the 100 breaststroke and 200 backstroke and brought home gold in the 400IM, silver in the 200IM and bronze in the 200 Backstroke.

Claragh Mc Gahon: Had a productive weekend swimming in seven strokes. She took gold in the 1500M Freestyle, silver in the 400IM and 200 backstroke, bronze in the 100 Fly, 200IM and 100 freestyle.

Sheenagh Mc Kenna: This was Sheenagh’s first Qualifying Gala having recently swam qualifying times to enter it. Sheenagh was off to a great start with a gold medal in the 50 Fly. She also gained PB’s in the 100 Back and 50 free.

Cliona Sheridan: This was Cliona first time competing in a 50M pool. She swam very well showing good technique in the 200IM, 200Back, 100 free and 400 free.

Eoghan Keenan: Eoghan swam in four races over the weekend. 200IM, 100 freestyle, 200 breast and 100 breast. This was Eoghan first gala of the season as he off due to injury. Good to see you back Eoghan!

Megan Mc Shane: Megan had three races this weekend. She achieved personal best times in all three, 100 breast, 200 free and 100 back with a silver medal in the back for her efforts.

Jamie Sheridan: Jamie had good races in the 100 free and 50 Back getting PB,s in both and was back racing in the NAC the following day.

Ruadhan Curran: Again this was Ruadhan first time competing in a 50M pool. He swam in the 100 breast and the 100 back and did a good job in both races.
