Sliabh Beagh saw two of our senior swimmers Enrique Rosada Lara and John Donnelly attend the Irish open Short Course Championships held in Lisburn swimming pool from 14 December to 17 dec 2017.
John started off the racing in the 50 and 100 breaststroke and did a great job in securing a place in the finals. The Final was exciting to watch and in top form John achieved a great pb of 1.07.01. In the 100 breaststroke. John also swam the 200 breast stroke and the 50 free, 50 fly and 100 IM and secured places in the finals in all races and achieved pbs in all races.
Enrique took to the pool next in the 200 Fly and 100,200 and 400 free and he too secured a place in the final in all races. And he also achieved great pb in his races. Both Boys did themselves and their Club proud at this meet Which was great preparation for the next challenging competition, The McCullagh International Meet which took place from Feb 16 th to 18 th Feb again in The Aurora leisure Centre Bangor . To achieve times to enter this senior competition is a great achievement for both boys as both only turned 16 in December.
Enrique started the racing off here in great form. Competition was tough and challenging but Enrique didn’t let the pressure get to him and performed to the best of his ability. He was extremely happy with his performance in the 200 and 400 free and delighted with the times he achieved
John was next to take to the water in the 50 free and the 50, 100 and 200 breaststroke and again against tough competition secured a place in the A finals in his 50 and 100 Breaststroke. The Finals took place in the evening and John swam his heart out and Achieved PB’s in these races.
The coaches and swimmers in the Sliabh Beagh Swimming club are proud of the achievements of both boys at these very challenging Senior meets. Keep the early morning training up Boys.
Enniskillen Gala
This Gala takes place on 15th April. Entries to with the gala secretary no later than 25th March.
Annual General Meeting
The clubs AGM takes place on the 5th April in Castleblayney Enterprise Centre at 7.30pm.
